While Triofox isn't an antivirus solution itself, it does offer supplementary technology to bolster your antivirus strategies. Presently, Triofox actively monitors the local file system for any alterations, utilizing its ransomware protection policy to potentially disable devices running the Triofox client and halt file syncing to the cloud in response to detected threats.

Triofox strongly advises all customers to uphold their own antivirus software. To assist with this, Triofox furnishes recommendations for configuring antivirus software to harmonize with the Triofox client, optimizing intelligent caching, and facilitating file/folder syncing, including procedures for uploading new content through the Triofox client.

Triofox Clients

• Omit the drive letter for Triofox on Windows or its volume on Mac from exclusion. Below are examples illustrating what should be excluded.
  
  
  
  
   
• Add Triofox Windows Client processes including ClientShell.exe to the whitelist of Antivirus software for Windows devices.  For Mac devices, add the following processes macclientshell
• Exclude the Triofox Windows client drive or volume from Antivirus scanning by adding exclusions in the Antivirus software (e.g., Windows Defender)

Note: Excluding This doesn't compromise security, as the Triofox cached files stored in the local directory "%localappdata%\gteamclient\cache" (during file upload and download) will still undergo scanning by the antivirus software.
