When a share can be accessed on Centrestack server, admin can attach the share in Centrestack directly. The data stays on the share. There is no need to copy the data to the tenant's backend storage. When accessing the share as team folder, Centrestack will read/upload to the share directly.
As admin on web portal, the directly attached share shows icon like the screenshot below:
To check the share storage configuration, under Team Folders on tenant Dashboard, edit the team folder.
Go to Storage tab. See the same icon for the folder, with UNC path. Click Edit icon on Settings.
It opens Storage Settings for the team folder, including UNC path, the user name and password for the windows user defined to access the share.
- Always access the storage using the logged in user's identity: When the setting is enabled, Centrestack will follow local NTFS permission when accessing the team folder as AD user. When the setting is disabled, Centrestack will always use the defined windows id here, to access the share, for all users.
The KB article here contains extra advanced settings to control the NTFS permission.
