Users can create private folders and upload data there. Admin cannot view user's private files. The private data is stored under user's own home folder in Centrestack backend storage.
Some times admin wants to prevent users from creating private folders. The users should only access team folders assigned to them.
. In tenant Settings, User Account & Security, Home Directory, uncheck the setting 'Create default folder (Documents, Pictures)' and save it.
The setting will prevent the default folder from creating, when create a new user. Keep in mind that it will not affect existing users. For existing users already have the default folders created, need to manually delete them.
. As tenant admin, under Tenant Dashboard, go to Roles and create a new role. In the role policy, check 'Disable user's home directory' and create the role.
After the role is created, go to 'Assigned Users/Groups' and add users to the role. Users in the role can not create private folders or upload files to root of the account. User can only access team folders assigned.
Again, the role will prevent users from new private folders. If the users already have private folders created before, need to manually delete them too.
