Generally, need a login in Centrestack, to upload files to the cloud. Sometimes, a user may want other people to upload files to his folder, without giving them an account. For example, a professor may want all his students to upload their presentations to his folder, without a login. In the case, the user can create a file request. It sends a link to others, who can click the link to upload file to the specific folder.
To request a file, login to web portal.
Right click the folder where you want the file to be stored and select 'Request a File'.
Here, type in the user's email. You can click Settings to get more options.
- Password: when access the link to upload file, type in a password first
- Expires in: for how long the link will be valid
- Notes: Add a note in the email to the user
After click 'REQUEST FILE', an email is sent to the user, with a link. The user can follow the link to select a local file and upload. The file will be uploaded to the folder where the link is created.
When setup request file, can click 'Generate Link'. Here, instead of sending an email to the user, the upload link shows directly. Can copy the link and share with others. Anyone has the link can follow it to upload file to the folder.
