By default, the contents of the local cache for the Windows Client & Windows Server agent is not encrypted. You can enable the Endpoint Encryption feature for Enhanced Security of your locally cached data. Once enabled, when a file is downloaded to cache, it is encrypted in-place. When an authorized user then accesses the file from the (M:) Mapped Cloud Drive, CentreStack automatically decrypts it on the fly and then returns it to the user. The Encryption / Decryption process is completely transparent to the end-user.
Offline Folders
Files in Offline Folders are stored in cache as well. As such, if you enable cache encryption, the contents of Offline Folders will be encrypted when downloaded into local cache.
Local Folders
Local Folders and their contents that you attach to the Cloud via the “Attach Local Folder” functionality provided in the Windows Client will not be encrypted as it is your own data.
