The Cache folder contains the files that have been opened and edited on the device. It also contains the contents of all the Offline Folders you have enabled. It provides faster access to cloud files.
A Cache size limit and minimal free disk space can be defined in the Client's Settings.
- When the client reaches the cache size limit, a process will start in the background, to purge oldest cached files, to make the cached file within the limit.
- When the amount of free space on the drive which hosts the cache folder is below the minimal free disk space, Desktop Clients will limit some cache related functions, including editing/copying file.
The setting can be enabled at 3 levels: User device (only affects the particular device), Tenant Admin Group Policies (affect all Tenant's users) and Cluster Group Policies (affects the whole Cluster). Always keep in mind that a change in higher level in the Policies overwrite the lowest levels.
After updating the setting, please save it. Then restart the Desktop Client to read the new value.
