The desktop notification that shows up when a file it is updated can be disabled on 3 levels: User device (only affects the particular device), Tenant Admin Policies (affects all Tenant's users) and Cluster Admin Policies (affects the whole cluster). Always keep in mind that a change in higher level in the Policies overwrite the lowest levels.
User device
- Click on the systray icon and open the web portal Client Management Console
- Or in the web portal in the User's Menu icon at the top right, go to 'My Devices' and click on the 'View Detail' icon of the specific Device
- Once in the Device Management Console, go to Settings
- In the section 'Mapped Drive Control' enable 'Do not show file change notifications'/'Do not show file in-place editing/preview disabled notifications' and 'Save' the changes using the icon at the bottom right
- Restart the desktop client to reflect the changes applied.
User device (from the Admin account)
The admin can disable these notifications for a specific device:
- Go to the Tenant Management Console / Control Panel / Device Manager and search for the specific user's device to Manage (or can access through User Manager / Edit the specific User / Devices tab)
- Go to Settings and make the changes (like in the User's Device example above)
- The user must restart the desktop client to reflect the changes applied.
Tenant Admin
Tenant scope only affects the users that belong to the Tenant.
- Go to Group Policy / Client Setting Manager / Mapped Drive Control
- The user must restart the desktop client to reflect the changes applied.
Cluster Admin
The Cluster Admin scope applies to the whole cluster, all users will follow this policy.
- Go to Default Group Policy / Client Setting Manager / Mapped Drive Control
- The user must restart the desktop client to reflect the changes applied.
